Web Clients provide enhanced security for web applications and execute digital certificate and encryption mechanisms to secure your transactional data. Steelcape Applets make protected network resources availble without being exposed to the internet.
Web Clients require an initial registration with the Steelcape Enterprise Server and a connection is not required to transact data. Web Clients work with the most popular web browsers that support scripting (PHP, ASP, Perl, etc.).
Applets provide the following for each communication session
- End-to-end security
- Authentication
- Encryption
- Server Protection
Applications:
- Secure FTP Login and Acceleration
- Secure Web Portal
- Private Data Entry Protection
How it works:
The Steelcape Web Client is downloaded as a secure Java applet from a public web server where it is registered with the Steelcape Enterprise Server to communicate with a service running on a steelcape protected host on a private network. At this point there is a Steelcape Enabled connection between the Web Browser to a Server behind a firewall. Once the session is ended the Applet is killed. |
