Seals Healthcare, based in Orange County, CA, is popular on-line healthcare distributor that services customers across the world, needed to increase the security of their inter-office communications, as well as with customers. Needing to prevent the loss to hackers of sensitive patient information - both personal and financial - in order to meet HIPAA requirements, they turned to Steelcape to provide a simple solution that could supplement their existing architecture.
The Solution: Steelcape Agents were added to the company's five locations under a zero-tolerance hacking policy.
Datalok
Based in Southern California, Datalok is a document storage and retrieval company that had the challenge of meeting the same network security standards as some of it's Fortune 100 customers. Traditional layered network security would have been too cost prohibitive to implement. Enter Steelcape. In just less than an hour Steelcape secured the communication between Datalok's private networks, allowing them to do business totally secure withn a locked down perimeter. Phase 2 for Q1 of 2008, will be deploying Steelcape applets on their customer web portal to transfer docuements containing personal data.

This well-known film production company daily creates new content in temporary remote filming locations around the world, and needed to securely send the digital media to their head office for processing in Los Angeles; a successful hack could result in pirated content. The visionary CEO of this firm made improved security a top priority and they approached Steelcape to help solve this tricky problem.
The Solution: Steelcape Gateways installed at the company's head-office and remote locations eliminate open ports. In addition to radically tougher security, increased network performance is expected once system tuning is complete.
StorageSwitch
StorageSwitch provides tools for end users, systems integrators and storage providers to enable the storage and protection of valuable digital assets. Their enterprise class gateways and utility programs enable you to store, access and ensure the integrity of your digital assets. They provide standards based (NFS, CIFS, HTTP, FTP, WebDAV etc) access to storage arrays from EMC, Network Appliance, HP, HDS, Copan, Caringo and others.
Being publicly traded, Storage Switch counts Fortune 500 banks and defense contractors amongst its clients, and stores and tracks sensitive data in five locations. Needing to ensure the best security and worried about successful hacking attempts, this firm approached Steelcape to provide new approach to security architectures; in addition, they were insistent on not having to change their existing applications and core operating systems.
The Solution: Storage Switch needed the technology to secure and accelerate data from their gateway to storage arrays and did not have the development time to accomplish this. Enter Steelcape with the Embedded Library technology placed directly in the device’s OS to facilitate for faster and secure transfer of data through the firewall.
